Since launching The K! Pit back in 2018, it seems almost impossible to think we haven’t had Skindred in there yet. Famously one of the very best live bands the UK has to offer, it’s been a long time coming that Benji Webbe and co. make the trip across from Newport.

And so, with typically-excellent new album You Got This arriving on April 17, happily this month marked the perfect time for Blondies in London to get properly acquainted with the ’Dred. Along with our mates at Monster, we invited 50 of the band’s biggest fans to come and get down with the ragga-metal crew, giving You Got This the ultimate release party.

But it wasn’t just about the new stuff – Skindred celebrated all corners of their nearly-30-year career so far, opening with an explosive Set Fazers from 2023’s chart-conquering Smile, before going into 2007’s Rat Race (with a snippet of If You’re Happy And You Know It for good measure). Elsewhere we got to hear everything from You Got This’ emphatic title-track to crowd favourite Warning, complete with what we can only assume is the first-ever dive bar Newport Helicopter.

Get stuck in to Skindred’s gloriously rowdy set in The K! Pit below:
