Based in Hagen, Germany, “The Cumberland River Project” delivers heartfelt nostalgia on “When The Streetlights Came On”. The outfit has previously featured on the website, and for good reasons too. They have this soulful sound that always seems to get to me.

… awarm, brass-laced Americana-tinged track that wraps nostalgia and soul into an easy, inviting listen.

The Cumberland River Project returns with When The Streetlights Came On

Right from the off, on this single, there is a warm, brassy tone that is sure to hook any new listeners in with ease. The vocals on this are once again a pure delight and have a delightful blend of Americana, pop-leaning country sounds, with a somewhat folky undertone.

With plenty of sliding guitars, emotional vocal hooks, and clean percussion, this is certainly going to be a great intro for new listeners, almost acting as a gateway into their sound, if you will. I honestly can’t get over the sound of the brass tones on this. For me, it was a real surprise and a key reason why I stuck around on this track from the very first play.
