Mississauga, Ontario-based progressive thrash metal outfit Guardians of Purgatory have officially released their ferocious new single, “Guardians of Hell.” The track delivers an intricate showcase of the band’s signature style, which pairs classic speed metal velocity with technical, modern precision.
Formed in December 2025 by multi-instrumentalists Rylan Jones (vocals/guitar) and Magnus Chien (bass), the project has quickly evolved from a solo studio concept into a high-driven collaborative force within the Canadian underground scene. The duo previously made waves in January 2026 with their independent debut single, “The Man in The Padded Cell,” which rapidly amassed over 8,000 streams across digital platforms. This success was followed by a definitive debut live performance and a cinematic, street-style photoshoot that cemented the group’s gritty visual identity.
The tracking sessions for “Guardians of Hell” were recorded locally at Wychwood Sounds, with audio mixing managed by Christopher Martins. Final audio production duties were handled by Caleb Hyde alongside Martins, who paired to master the final track. The resulting cut balances complex melodic structures, driving percussion, and unrelenting thrash aggression.
“Guardians of Hell” is officially out now and available for streaming on Spotify, as well as for digital purchase via the band’s official Bandcamp page.
