ESORE ALLE – Mum, I Did Drugs!
OUT NOW via Bandcamp and other streaming platforms
Mum, I Did Drugs! is the exuberant result of one all night recording session, it’s a tongue-in-cheek reflection of casual drug use and societies many feelings on it. With wailing falsetto, 90’s reminiscent backing track and unhinged introspective lyrics, Esore asks the question “Can you truly be sad if you’re dancing?” The answer is yes, of course.
Four conversational mates and one TV Channel are not a good mix. Too many voices jibbering naff all. I wasn’t sure how long I’d been there. There was a fruit bowl and an orange. Other fruits were there too but I couldn’t look at them. The TV was way bright, it was fuzzing up the way my brain was trying not to work. The orange was safe. Oranges are good for you. Vitamin C. See what you want. The wallpapers pretty bland.
With a pale bead of sweat and a ‘chunder’ in the post I sat there frozen. Well not frozen. I was very clammy. Couldn’t move my arms though. A terrible thought crossed my mind, what if all my hair has fallen out? I hope I’m not bald all of a sudden. I wanted to check but my arms said No. Just say no. Oranges are good for you.
Chocolate and/or bananas are good if you feel a bit ‘iffy’. Something to do with science and sugar. Summertime needs a beat. Beat it. Can you kick it? I think so. I’ve just looked at some grapes and had to go back to the orange. Why have Holland never won the World Cup? Cruyff was a genius, and Bergkamp. Imagine them two on the same team!
There’s a mirror over there. “Is the person I see, actually me? Or are they actually them?”
I’m not saying drugs are addictive, but Esore’s enigmatic music definitely is!! He’s a wizard in the making with a bag as big as Merlin. Get on it.

A Plea From Louder Than War
Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.
To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital.
