With every release, FOLA continues to prove he’s building something far bigger than a viral moment. Blending Afrobeats, soul, and R&B with emotional honesty and understated confidence, the Nigerian singer songwriter is entering a defining new chapter ahead of his forthcoming project.

His latest single, ‘fine ting (fine $hit)’, arrives fresh off a sold out Indigo at The O2 performance and an equally sold out UK tour, further cementing his rise as one of the most exciting voices emerging from Nigeria’s new wave. Smooth, reflective, and emotionally layered, the track explores attraction and vulnerability with a subtlety that makes it hit even harder.

What makes Fola stand out is intention. Every release feels personal, every lyric considered. Rather than chasing trends, he’s focused on creating music that connects on a deeper level, and audiences are responding not just to the sound, but to the person behind it.

That connection was undeniable at Indigo O2, where Fola delivered a performance that felt both intimate and commanding. It was a reminder that his artistry translates just as powerfully on stage as it does through headphones, and a clear sign that he’s stepping into a new level creatively and commercially.

The visual for ‘fine ting (fine $hit)’ expands that world even further. Refined, cinematic, and emotionally charged, the video offers a closer look into Fola’s identity as an artist, confident, reflective, and impossible to ignore.

Already recognised as one of Spotify’s most streamed Nigerian artists and previously named Spotify RADAR Africa Artist of the Year, Fola’s momentum continues to grow. But beyond the numbers, it’s the direction that feels most exciting. If this latest release is any indication, his upcoming album could mark a major turning point in both his career and the future of contemporary Afrobeats. continues to prove he’s building something far bigger than a viral moment. Blending Afrobeats, soul, and R&B with emotional honesty and understated confidence, the Nigerian singer songwriter is entering a defining new chapter ahead of his forthcoming project.

FOLA sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

    1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?

For me, it all started at home and in church. I used to sing in my local church’s choir and it all went up from there.

    2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?

I would like to do something with J. Cole, Rihanna and Tems, I think that would bang.

3.What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?

My sophomore album is coming soon, it’s almost ready. I just dropped the first single off it, “fine $hit”. You should check it out.

    4. How would you describe your sound?

Afrobeats with a touch of soul and R&B.

    5. What’s your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?

Every tour stop, when the fans are singing my songs back to me. It’s incredible.
