Jonson, Jonson & Jonson Drop Smooth New Soul Cut ‘Trouble’.

North West London’s soul funk jazz trio Jonson, Jonson & Jonson return with their third single, Trouble, a classy slice of late night listening.

Made up of Joe Cang, Danny Schogger and Phil Thornalley, the trio lean into a rich Seventies soul sound. Trouble is a slow burning groove with silky piano, crisp drums and effortlessly funky guitar. A warm bassline carries Joe’s Marvin Gaye inspired vocals as he reflects on conflict and human intolerance.

It is a track built for after hours listening or poolside moments. Smooth, thoughtful and full of groove.

The release follows Keep Falling For It in 2024 and Circles in 2025, the latter picked up by Ramrock Records and supported by Gilles Peterson and Tony Blackburn.

Each member brings serious pedigree. Danny Schogger has worked with Celine Dion and George Michael, Joe Cang has written for Aswad and Hall and Oates, and Phil Thornalley has credits with The Cure and Natalie Imbruglia’s Torn.

With their own label Swamp Recordings and debut album Back to the Buffet due later this year, Trouble is a confident step forward.
