    Out Now

Loose Articles return with new single Cringe of Hinge, the first taste of their as yet untitled second album.

LTW favourites, Manchester punks Loose Articles, who now include Anna Reed (keys and guitar) and Rachel Williams (drums) alongside founding members Erin Caine (vocals and guitar) and Natalie Wardle (vocals and bass) release new single Cringe Of Hinge. It’s the first new material since their 2025 standalone collaborative single with French rap artist Nadir, Marseille Manchester (In The Area) and taste of their second album.

Taken from their as yet untitled second album, the single, as with so many of their previous releases is timely and observational, based on their experiences and also of those around them. The band say, ‘This is an anthem dedicated to the relationship cheaters on dating apps. You know who you are: you’re the cringe of hinge. We wanted to hit back at the disposability of the modern relationship; swiping left or swiping right, blooming or perishing at the touch of a button. Dating profile stereotypes, sell the best version of yourself. Sliding binge, the illusion of infinite choice. Cringe of Hinge says no to being swipeable products, and shallow interactions.’

Since the release of their debut album, Scream If You Wanna Go Faster, in 2024 Loose Articles have been almost constantly covering the length and breadth of the country on a dream run of coveted support slots with the likes of New Order, Foo Fighters, The Lovely Eggs, Gang of Four, Pulled Apart By Horses, PINS, Lambrini Girls and House Of All. Last year the band also completed their Arts Council England-funded Kick Like A Girl Extra Time! touring projectwith BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Emily Pilbeam as special ambassador and secured a riotous last minute appearance at TRUCK Festival. Most recently, Loose Articles were one of the standout acts at the Louder Than War Live event in March, alongside Seapower and Benefits.

The band will hit the road again for a run of May 2026 UK Headline Tour Dates and have announced appearances at Snug Fest, In Your Backyard and Beyond The Music for later this year.

A Plea From Louder Than War

Louder Than War is run by a small but dedicated independent team, and we rely on the small amount of money we generate to keep the site running smoothly. Any money we do get is not lining the pockets of oligarchs or mad-cap billionaires dictating what our journalists are allowed to think and write, or hungry shareholders. We know times are tough, and we want to continue bringing you news on the most interesting releases, the latest gigs and anything else that tickles our fancy. We are not driven by profit, just pure enthusiasm for a scene that each and every one of us is passionate about.

To us, music and culture are eveything, without them, our very souls shrivel and die. We do not charge artists for the exposure we give them and to many, what we do is absolutely vital. Subscribing to one of our paid tiers takes just a minute, and each sign-up makes a huge impact, helping to keep the flame of independent music burning! Please click the button below to help.
