After more than a year out of the spotlight, Ruben Dumars returns with a sharp reminder of his evolving sound on new single Hurt Hearts, featuring Agent Sixx.

Built on a synth heavy intro that quickly gives way to a punchy, old school backbeat, “Hurt Hearts” thrives on contrast. Dumars blends classic hip hop textures with a more experimental, alternative edge, creating something that feels both nostalgic and forward thinking. His signature approach, layered production, gritty guitar tones, and fluid genre crossover, is fully on display here.

The track’s creation was anything but conventional. Dumars recorded the instrumental before connecting with Agent Sixx, later stitching together multiple written versions into the final cut. The result feels raw yet intentional, a track that came together quickly but, as he admits, faced a far more complicated journey to release.

Hailing from Cincinnati, Dumars has steadily built a reputation since his 2023 debut for crafting immersive, genre blurring records. With “Hurt Hearts,” he not only reasserts his presence but hints at a bigger creative push ahead, positioning himself as one to watch as new music unfolds into 2025.
