British hard rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Jack J Hutchinson has announced the upcoming release of his next studio album, Soul Believer, alongside the premiere of its heavy, riff-driven title track single and accompanying music video. The video is below, stream the single from the usual places, and pre-order the album now.
Scheduled to land on Friday 22nd January 2027 via Earache Digital, the 12-track collection serves as the highly anticipated follow-up to his 2024 hit record, Battles, which famously scaled the upper reaches of the UK Official Independent Charts. Co-written and recorded alongside producer Josiah J Manning across Momentum Studios in Plymouth and SuperFly Studios in Nottinghamshire, the new material looks to build extensively on a creative partnership that previously earned high-rotation playlist slots on Planet Rock and widespread praise across BBC Radio 2 and Classic Rock Magazine.
“‘Soul Believer’ was written during a period of turmoil and instability in my personal life,” Hutchinson shares. “It’s about taking all the shit that life can throw at you, raising your head above the parapet and saying, ‘bring it on!’. The 12 tracks on Soul Believer are the most eclectic I’ve written for an album. My favourite records are Physical Graffiti and Exile on Main Street, which are both pretty diverse ranging albums that swing from hard rockers through to bluesy numbers and softer ballads. I wanted to do something similarly expansive and quite cinematic.”
To celebrate the record’s rollout, Hutchinson and his power trio – completed by bassist Greg Smith and drummer Phil Wilson – will embark on a comprehensive multi-city UK tour stretching across the remainder of 2026, culminating in a major, official album launch headline spectacle at the O2 Academy Islington on Thursday 21st January 2027.
