Alt-rock singer-songwriter Røry has officially announced the upcoming release of her highly anticipated sophomore studio album, Bloodletting, scheduled to drop on 4th September 2026 via Sadcøre Records. Alongside the album announcement, she has shared her anthemic new single, “Strange,” which is available to stream now.
The 13-track record serves as a darker, heavier evolution for the artist, exploring profound themes of grief, rage, mortality, and suppressed trauma. Produced by long-term collaborators Kingdoms, with additional production and mixing handled by Dan Lancaster (Bring Me The Horizon, Muse), the release captures her navigating complex emotional landscapes. To match the sonic weight of the new material, Røry even undertook vocal training to incorporate screaming into her performance for the first time, finding a new avenue to express deep-seated anger and resentment.
“I realised I was sick from being nice,” Røry explains. “I’d spent so much of my life being the bigger person, forgiving people, understanding people, making excuses for people. I’d become disconnected from huge parts of myself. Bloodletting was about reclaiming them. It was a release of everything buried too deep for too long.”
The album will feature recent singles “Degradation,” “Dead Girl Walking,” and “Kids These Days” alongside the newly unveiled anthem “Strange.” Ahead of the autumn rollout, UK fans can catch her live as she makes her highly anticipated debut performance at Download Festival this June. The prestigious appearance follows a busy summer circuit for the rock scene, arriving just before 2000trees Festival opens its gates at Upcote Farm.
