Scarborough hard rock outfit This House We Built have officially released their brand-new single, “Desires,” complete with an accompanying music video. The track marks the sixth promotional single taken from their critically acclaimed sophomore studio album, Get Out Of The Rain, which landed last November via standalone digital platforms.

The album has continued to gather substantial critical momentum across the mainstream rock press, earning a near-perfect 10/10 from Rock N Load and a coveted 9/10 review from Classic Rock Magazine, who praised the band’s knack for creating memorable, emotive, and fresh anthems. “Desires” highlights a more dynamic, collaborative side to the band’s songwriting structure, expanding beyond their traditional driving riffs into deeper rhythmic soundscapes without losing their core heavy undertone.

“This one was an ‘all hands-on deck’ job,” recalls vocalist and guitarist Scott Wardell. “I had put it together for the band as a demo but I wasn’t 100% sure of the chorus. It came to life when we kicked it around in the studio. Dave Boothroyd again put his magic twist on things and Wayne came up with some incredible bass riffage throughout the verses of the song, doing this on the spot. We wanted to have another album of different styles of songs but keep the heavy undertone.”

The four-piece – completed by guitarist Andy Jackson, drummer Chris Mayes, and bassist Wayne Dowkes-White – are currently preparing to hit the road for a busy stretch of UK summer festival appearances and independent headline dates, with a full touring itinerary expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
