Based out of Seville, Spain, is V.E.N!, and we’ve been liking his EP as of late. “The Beauty of Danger” is a five-track release that has plenty of cross-genre sounds such as melodic pop-rock, new wave and power-pop, amongst others.

V.E.N! delivers a vibrant new EP, THE BEAUTY OF DANGER

All tracks come in that perfect window of 3-4 minutes long, with the opening track being a quite melodic and dreamy cut. As soon as it comes towards the 1-minute mark, there’s a deep and brooding guitar line that brings in plenty of atmosphere, sounding almost like a Britpop cult track.

The second song is titled “Now” and is a bit more of an upbeat tune compared to the opening track. It has a delightful amount of guitars on it that reminded me of the indie scene in the UK in the mid-2000s.

The track acting as the midpoint of the EP is the longest and also the most relaxing one. A great gateway track for the EP, if you will, to start things off with. Titled “The Silence of God”, it has plenty of flowing guitars, delicate solos and, once again, is laced with some moody vocals.

The latter two songs on the EP are called “CoLiving Polyamory and E-Scooter” and “Walk on Fire”. The former is a more rockier cut, whilst the closing track is more of that laid-back sound you heard on the first three songs. In fact, I would put it to you that the last song on this EP is, for me, the best. I personally feel like it is a great wrap-up of the EP, giving listeners a taste of everything they’ve previously just listened to. I’m sure this track is going to convince a lot of people to delve into his back catalogue and check out his previous songs.

Even though this EP was released in December 2024, it still stands strong today and, for me, it is as fresh as anything else that’s being released right now.

    Out of 10: 8.2/10

… a genre-blending, atmospheric EP that balances dreamy indie textures with punchy, modern rock energy.
