The official crowdfunding poster has now been revealed for Aaron Truss’s debut feature film Employee of the Dead, marking a key milestone as the project moves deeper into development and funding.
Designed by Ignacio Mazuecos, (whose previous work includes Pareidolia and Hyper: The Stevie Hyper D Story) and shot by Hannah Davis has been dropped on TikTok by one of its recently announced co-leads, CBBC legend Dani Harmer.

Last week, it was revealed on social media that the team at Q Cumber Films invaded the Mercury Mall in Romford, with shoppers and spectators witnessing film crews and zombies causing chaos and mayhem after hours. Onlookers were treated to a scene unfolding involving the Tracy Beaker actress Dani Harmer and Paul Casar (of BBC’s Detectorists), attempting to rescue their supermarket co-worker, played by Ellie Raé Winstone (youngest daughter of actor Ray Winstone), from a zombie attack.

Director Aaron Truss was joined on set by horror legend and director Jake West (Doghouse, Razor Blade Smile) to oversee the sequences unfold in the late hours. The group were also joined by co-writer and co-lead Joe Acres (of the band Taxi Joe) as a staged argument between Acres and Harmer was acted out.

It’s been almost 20 years since the original Employee of the Dead (featuring both Joe Acres and the late Harry Potter actor, Rob Knox) and with production on the crowdfund promo now wrapped, the upcoming Indiegogo campaign promises to be something we’ve never seen before. Based on the true story of how Aaron and his friends took over a Sainsbury’s night shift in 2008 to make a zombie film, Employee of the Dead promises to be a love letter to horror films, indie filmmakers and a story that has plenty of heart, but lots of blood and guts. I mean, who doesn’t want to see Tracy Beaker Vs Zombies…

The Indiegogo crowdfunding is due to launch in just over a month’s time, with special treats being revealed in the lead-up to the kickoff! The team would also like to extend their special thanks to Spencer Hawkin and the dedicated team at the Mercury Mall for allowing filming to take place for the promo film.
