Based in Boldon Colliery, England, Johnny Pears showcases his songwriting approach on “Night Crawlers”. The North East of the UK has been awash recently with brilliant singer-songwriters, all thanks to the likes of Sam Fender, showcasing that there is a strong scene still in that part of the country.

…Johnny Pears makes a strong debut with “Night Crawlers”, blending indie rock, hazy vocals, and North East UK songwriting charm.

This debut song from Johnny is a compelling blend of indie rock mixed with some alternative sounds and a somewhat psychedelic and quirky synth tone that underpins the track throughout.

Vocally, this is also quite hazy, with sounds that remind me of the surf pop scene that was bubbling around the UK during 2012 and 2013.

For a debut, this is nothing short of strong. If you are looking for a new singer-songwriter from the North East to get into, then Johnny Pears is an artist who most certainly has the talent to go on and make a name for himself.
