Following their dynamite headline shows at Slam Dunk this past weekend, Knocked Loose have announced a pair of UK headline shows between their gigs opening for Metallica this summer.
They’ll hit Bristol Electric on June 29, the night after hitting Cardiff’s Principality Stadium with the Four Horsemen and Gojira, and Nottingham Rock City on June 30. They then play London Olympic Stadium with Metallica on July 3.
“It’s crazy that all this is happening,” singer Bryan Garris told Kerrang! in an exclusive cover interview. “It’s nothing that we could ever have wished for, or expected to happen to us.
“[It] kind of took a second to sink in,” he said of when the band got the news immediately after last year’s mega-show at O2 Academy Brixton. “It was almost like shock. But then it was this really big, exciting celebration. Everybody started to branch off to call their parents and tell them. It was awesome.
“What am I going to say to James Hetfield?!” he pondered in the run-up to the tour. “Like, he’s gonna come up to me and say, ‘What’s up?’ And I’m just gonna freeze, like, ‘I’ve listened to you since I was fucking 10 years old.’ And Metallica is the band for Isaac [Hale, guitar]. They’re why he plays guitar, he knows every single song. There’s a lot of layers of excitement for that.”
Meanwhile, the band recently released the video for Hive Mind, their hook up with Denzel Curry, filmed at a skate park in their home town.
