    meelu, originally from Kommetjie, South Africa, is the type of artist that is massive in another country, yet is not well known outside of it.

    The South African singer-songwriter has delivered an incredibly tender and deeply moving track with lots of alt-rock moments mixed in with acoustic textures and licks of folk for good measure. If you like the sound of Holly Humberstone and Phoebe Bridges, then this new offering called “candlelight” is going to be right up your street.

    I especially liked the bass line in the breakdown. It’s something that is probably not going to be at the forefront of most people’s minds when they listen to this, but I keep an ear out personally for a lot of those elements that are hiding within the track. Big moments that, for me, I will easily remember the track from

    With atmospheric vocals, a solid tempo, and a crescendo at the end that will have you lingering for more, it sounds like meelu is going to be an artist to keep an eye on.
